Annual Essendon Bushwalking Club Marathon

Each year since 1995 the Essendon Bushwalking Club has conducted a long distance walk.  The initial 3 walks were over a distance of 37-38 km, but in November 1997 the walk was altered to the nominal distance of 42 km, although several of the walks in the intervening years have been 2 or 3 km longer.  The event has started or finished at such places as Blackwood, Hepburn Springs, Castlemaine, Bendigo, Heathcote, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Maryborough, Buninyong, Macedon and Trentham.

The 2017 Marathon is scheduled for Saturday October 21, and will be from Dereel to Smythesdale south-west of Ballarat.

If you wish to take part you will need to register no later than Friday October 6.

Even if you are not a financial member of the Essendon Bushwalking Club, you are most welcome to walk with us.  You will need to complete an Acknowledgement of Risks Form and include it with your Registration Form.

After downloading a form, save it to your computer and then print it.  Further instructions are on the Registration Form.
